Dayton's Restaurant: A Comfort Food Haven in Salisbury, MD

If you’re missing the old Ocean City days or just want an excellent breakfast at reasonable prices, this spot delivers. A true sit-down breakfast with a huge variety of options. Two of us ate comfortably, enjoyed coffee and a few extras, and still spent under $25. Hard to beat. Quick meals, and unbelievable service.

I ordered the crab cakes for the first time broiled and have no complaints! You get 2 and they are a very nice size. I LOVE the turnip greens, so for my 2 sides I got a double order. The cornbread was very good. My daughter got the half roasted chicken with stuffing, turnip greens and candied yams! She has no complaints either. Look at photos! I recommend! Our Server Angela was awesome, friendly and communicated with a smile!

I usually don’t eat out for breakfast because well, the food is never all that great. But I have Dayton’s a try cause what the heck. I DO NOT REGRET IT. This was so delicious and well made. The staff was lovely, and gave a great energy to the restaurant. You go in and sit wherever you’d like, which I LOVE. Definitely would recommend.

Great food at a really affordable price. I've been here several times with my grandma and always enjoy it. I normally go for the seafood but the fried chicken is very good and a popular choice as well. The restraint has been a staple for locals for decades and never disappoints. It's a nice relaxed place for lunch and dinner.

Dayton’s Restaurant is an absolute gem for breakfast, brunch, or lunch, offering incredibly affordable prices that make every visit a steal! The warm and welcoming crew creates a fantastic vibe, and the menu shines with a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. We loved the BLT and bacon cheeseburger with mashed potatoes and Salisbury gravy—both were fantastic! The space is clean, tidy, with ample seating, and there’s plenty of parking to make your visit hassle-free. Highly recommend this budget-friendly spot!

Delicious breakfast everytime and fast service even when short staffed.

Ate here for lunch with an old high school friend I haven't seen in person in 20 years or so. I recently started my full time career truck driving this past week and happened to have a stop in Salisbury where my friend and her husband moved to years ago. I reached out to meet up while I'm here in town to catch up and have her show me around the city she loves to live in. I'm pescatarian and she suggested that we eat here because she absolutely loves it and said I would too. She wasn't wrong at all. I had the shrimp basket with fries and a cake for dessert. The shrimp was seasoned and fried exceptionally. Nothing I've had before anywhere else and really enjoyed it. The staff is friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is very quaint. Like a small town vibe, southern style kind of diner that caters to families and everyone alike. I'd definitely come back again and would love to try the catfish next time around.

The meal was economically priced. The servings were more than enough for leftovers. The wait staff and hostess were cordial. I would like to especially thank Tristan.
